A Love Letter to October

FOUNDERS NOTES:

After September came through to regulate, October arrives with a softer but deeper reminder: to pour that love back inward. This month embodies love, luxury, and romance. And while it is often second nature to extend that energy outward to friends, family, partners, even work, October asks us to tip the scales.

This is a season of giving depth to our relationships, not just romantically but also with family, friendships, and the connection we have with ourselves. After all the lessons we have been handed this year, October is where the details matter most. It is about implementing what we have learned, slowing down enough to notice what needs more care, and creating balance where we have been overextending.

“October asks us to tip the scales.“

So I ask:

Where have we been over giving?

How would it feel to approach relationships by putting ourselves first, not from a place of selfishness but from honesty?

What are your favorite relationships right now, the ones that feel like home?

Where do you feel most inspired, and how can you bring more of that creative energy into your days?

How can you allow space for your own joy, play, and imagination while still showing up for others?

What could you create this month if you gave yourself permission to explore freely without expectation?

“October reminds us that making space for what you love is not selfish. It is actually what allows you to keep showing up for the people and things that matter most.”

We are entering the final stretch of the year. These last three months often carry a certain kind of magic. They hold the weight of the highs and lows we have walked through and the possibility of shaping what is ahead. It is both scary and exciting, this long interlude that gently molds the beginning of a brand new year.

Overall Energy:

October carries the energy of balance and refinement. Where September asked for accountability and structure, October invites softness, a return to joy, connection, and intimacy. It is about filling your own cup and remembering that you cannot pour from empty.

There is an elegance to October’s energy. Think cozy nights, meaningful conversations, and spaces where you feel fully seen. The lesson here is that the more we honor ourselves, the more deeply we can show up in all the places that matter.

Mind and Body:

October calls for self-nourishment. Lean into routines that feel grounding and restorative while also bringing in moments of pleasure. This could look like warming seasonal foods such as apples, pears, figs, pumpkins, and root vegetables, or adding spices like cinnamon, cardamom, and nutmeg to bring comfort from the inside out.

On a physical level, focus on balance through gentle strength work, stretching, or even dance to reconnect to your body. On a skincare level, this is a good time to transition into richer hydration as the air cools, exfoliate to keep the glow, and keep your immune system supported with teas, herbs, and rest.

Crystal companions for October may include Rose Quartz for love and compassion, Rhodonite for balance, and Labradorite for moving through seasonal shifts with grace.
