Hugging Redirection
Through growth and alignment, ego deaths, losing loved ones, moving to new places, building businesses, long work hours, sudden quiet seasons, breakups that transform you, fading friendships, career highs that lift you, failures that humble you, small wins that remind you of your purpose, and even the joy of finding love that feels right, change is inevitable. We may not always control the timing, but we can choose how we respond to it.
change is inevitable. We may not always control the timing, but we can choose how we respond to it.
When opportunities slip away, work switch’s up, or relationships shift, it can feel like the ground beneath you is moving. What was once steady starts to feel heavy. In those moments, it’s easy to wonder if you’re being punished, if you’ve fallen out of step, lost rhythm , or if life is making you wait without revealing the reason.
We’ve all heard that what’s meant for you will never pass you by. However, when you’re in the thick of it, when clarity is elusive and delays accumulate, those words don’t always resonate.
One of the most precious lessons I hold dear is this: pauses aren’t punishments, and detours aren’t denials. Sometimes, the pause is precisely what prepares you for what comes next.
Fear and accountability intertwine, but fear will always try to keep you small. Rising anyway, even when the world spins, builds a strength that nothing else can provide. Looking back, so much of what once felt like loss or confusion ultimately shapes you, aligns you, and redirects you.

There’s no age limit on starting over, reimagining, or expressing your desire for something new. Sometimes, the very roadblock we dread walking through is the same one that sets a redirection in motion. So, embrace the redirection. Let it be a softer landing than you anticipated. Trust that even in the pause, you’re still moving forward.
And if you’re currently in one of those seasons, perhaps pause with me here.
Reflect on a time when something challenging transformed into something positive. How did it feel in your body then, and how does it feel now?
Reflect on a moment when life slowed down, and consider what surprised you about that pause.
Think about a detour that led you to an unexpected destination. What discoveries did you make there?
Reflect on how you coped with a challenging season.
Consider the changes in a shifting relationship.
Recall the last time you felt truly supported, and reflect on how your body responded to that sense of safety.
Identify a small joy that recently brought you comfort, even if it seemed ordinary.
Return to a phrase or reminder that provided stability during times of uncertainty.
Reflect on a time when waiting yielded more than rushing ever could.
Name three things that currently ground you.
